Safety and quality certificates for our beds
Types of certificates and what they guarantee:
The certificates listed below confirm that our beds have undergone a series of specialised tests verifying their strength, stability and safe use. Thanks to these tests, we know that our products comply with current regulations and offer the highest level of protection. Our products are certified by a reputable institution: the Institute of Supervision.
Clean and safe lacquers
EN 71-3
Ensures that the lacquers and other coatings used on the bed do not contain harmful chemical substances that could migrate and pose a health risk, particularly to children.
FSC Certificate (Forest Stewardship Council)
Confirms that the wood used to manufacture our beds comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests, respecting the environment and local communities. By choosing LANO, you support environmentally responsible forest management.

Standards for bunk beds and high sleeper beds
PN-EN 747-1+A1:2015-08
Applies to the safety and strength of bunk beds and high sleeper beds (over 60 cm above the floor), particularly those longer than 140 cm and up to 120 cm wide.
- Safe construction: All edges and corners are rounded, with no burrs or sharp parts.
- Component strength: The bed is tested for vertical and horizontal loads to ensure that elements such as safety rails and the base are not damaged or deformed. For example, safety rails are tested with a downward force of 1000 N (approx. 100 kg).
- Safe openings and gaps: Moving parts of the bed (e.g. folding frames) are designed to prevent trapping – gaps are either less than 7 mm or between 12 and 25 mm.
- Ladder stability: The ladder undergoes rigorous load testing, including a static vertical load of 1200 N (approx. 120 kg) applied to each rung.
- User warnings: Indicates that bunk beds and upper sleeping surfaces are not suitable for children under 6 years of age. The manual contains additional important safety warnings.
- Mattress information: The recommended maximum mattress height is 12 cm.

Standards for low beds (floor-level)
PN-EN 1725:2024-04
This standard covers safety, strength and durability requirements for all types of beds.
- No sharp edges or burrs: All parts that come into contact with the user during normal use must be free from burrs, sharp edges or open ends.
- Safe moving mechanisms: If the bed includes moving parts (e.g. folding frames), the gaps between them must be safe – up to 7 mm or between 12 and 25 mm – to prevent trapping.
- Stability: The bed is tested against tipping to ensure stability.
- Strength and durability: The bed undergoes static strength testing, for example by applying a load of 1400 N (approx. 140 kg) to the most critical points for 30 seconds.
Furniture for domestic use (applies to the SOFINO model)
PN-EN 12520:2015
This certificate confirms that the SOFINO model meets additional and more detailed requirements and is perfectly suited to everyday home use.
Furniture for commercial and general use (applies to the SOFINO model)
PN-EN 16139:2013
This is an extension of the PN-EN 12520:2015 standard and is essential for the SOFINO model intended for use in high-traffic environments such as hotels. The difference lies in a significantly higher number of test cycles (for example, the backrest is tilted 100,000 times). This demonstrates the increased strength and durability of the bed under intensive use, ensuring reliability even in demanding commercial settings.
